Tummy Tucks

There is a product on the infomercial channels this year touting something called a tummy tuck belt.  It looks like one of the body shaper underwear pieces that women wear, but the product also comes with a tube of crème that is supposed to accelerate your fat burning.

You put the underwear on after rubbing your belly fat with the crème, then do 2 minutes of standing stomach contractions (tummy tucks).  Then you leave the underwear on for another 8 minutes.  The product claims are that you will notice a half inch difference in a week and an inch difference in a month, with no otherchange to your daily habits (diet or exercise).

Not having been born yesterday, I typically never believe ads such as these.  I’m tempted though, to order their tube of crème and use it with the body shaper underwear I already own.  First however, I decided to just try the one thing in the commercial that looked like it might cause a difference – two minutes of standing tummy tucks a day.  I’ll update this article at the end of the month to let you know if I lost any belly fat doing this!

If you use an electric toothbrush, it probably has a timer – mine does anyway.  Lucky for me the timer on mine goes off at the two minute mark.  Each morning, as I brush my teeth, I am also doing two minutes of tummy tucks.

How do you do a tummy tuck?  Here is what I am doing (remember I am not a medical or exercise guru).  Let your belly muscles relax – pouching out your stomach. Tighten the belly muscles, beginning with the lower abdomen and working up – hold for a few seconds and then release.  Repeat for 2 minutes.
